- No — do not feed

Why
Apple, pear and similar seeds contain amygdalin, which releases cyanide when crushed. A parrot's small body weight means even a few chewed seeds matter. Never give a whole apple core.
What to watch for
If your parrot has eaten any amount, treat these as urgent:
- rapid breathing
- convulsions
- bright red mucous membranes
- collapse
What to feed instead
If you were reaching for apple seeds, apple gives you the same job — a treat the bird will actually take — without the risk. Can parrots eat apple?
