Toxic

- Verdict
- No — do not feed
- Safer swap
- Kale
Why
Rhubarb leaves contain soluble oxalic acid. In birds this causes calcium binding, kidney damage and acute hypocalcemia. The stalk is lower risk but still not recommended.
What to watch for
If your parrot has eaten any amount, treat these as urgent:
- tremors
- weak bones
- blood in urine
- collapse
What to feed instead
If you were reaching for rhubarb leaves, kale gives you the same job — a treat the bird will actually take — without the risk. Can parrots eat kale?
