Can parrots eat popcorn?
Safe
Yes — plain air-popped only, as an occasional treat.

- Popcorn

- Human snack
- Verdict
- Yes — with limits
- Amount
- Three or four pieces, no more than once or twice a week, unpopped kernels removed.
Why
Plain air-popped corn is not toxic and parrots enjoy the crunch. The risk is everything that normally comes with it: salt, butter, sugar, caramel and microwave bags coated in flavouring. Unpopped kernels are a choking hazard and should be picked out.
How much is too much
Three or four pieces, no more than once or twice a week, unpopped kernels removed.
Treats and fruit should stay under roughly 20% of the daily bowl. The rest is pellets, leafy greens and a good chop.
